Albion in the Community: Working together to create opportunities!

We are very pleased that Key Stage 3 are now enjoying weekly sessions with Albion in  the Community.

Due to the high demand, we have created two groups who access these sessions on alternating weeks, and are expertly coached by Kieran.

Students have been working on progressing their dribbling, tackling, passing and shooting skills whilst also being encouraged to develop teamwork and sportsmanship.  We could not be happier that Key Stage 3 now have these regular sessions!

Great Links Leads to Inspirational Assembly!

Over the last year and a half, Woodlands Meed have worked very closely with Albion in the Community so that our students have been able to access many more sporting opportunities.  These include weekly training sessions across the whole school and inter sporting events such as football festivals and tournaments.

On Friday 18th January, Woodlands Meed were extremely lucky to receive an exciting and interesting presentation from AITC coach Kieran.  He shared memories and photos of growing up, of playing football and of how working for Albion in the Community has changed his life!

The students (and staff!) thoroughly enjoyed Kieran’s talk, and it is always fantastic meeting such an inspirational young man!

Kieran did not come empty handed either!  With him, he brought all the medals for our amazing young people who participated in the fantastic football tournaments and festivals during the Autumn Term.   Over 30 of our young people represented Woodlands Meed in one of the following:

· Year 9/10/11 football tournament

· Year 6/7/8 Football tournament

· Wheelchair Football Festival

Well Done to all INVOLVED...We are SO proud of each and every one of you!
