Woodlands Meed Super 1s Cricket Hub!

Woodlands Meed are very proud to announce the formation of The Woodlands Meed Super 1s Cricket Hub.  Super 1's is a community cricket club delivered by Sussex Cricket, funded by Lord's Taverners, which provides young people, aged 12-25, who have physical and/or learning disabilities with sporting opportunities.  As well as these competitive opportunities, members get access to regular physical activity and the participants are encouraged to make new friends and develop their independent life skills such as communication and leadership.

The Burgess Hill Super 1's club is based at Woodlands Meed every Wednesday after school and forms part of a new West Sussex league where they will play matches against other Sussex-based Super 1’s clubs every 3-4 months.  At each club session, the coaches work with the participants to improve their cricket skills through a series of fun games.  Each session finishes off with a match to prepare the team for the next competition round.

Super 1’s is a national competition run by the Lord’s Taverners charity. More information can be found at this website - https://www.lordstaverners.org/super1s.  Woodlands Meed are very proud of the partnership that we have established with Sussex Cricket and look forward to all our joint ventures in the future!
