Niamh represents Albion in the Community in finals of People’s Cup 2019

Woodlands Meed College student, Niamh, represented Albion in the Community Blues, under 16’s disability section, in the finals of this year's People's Cup, held at St Georges Park.  Woodlands Meed teacher, Ian MacDonald who helps train with Albion in the Community was there to help and support.  Ian commented on the day

‘Not only did Niamh play a part in every game she was the only girl in the tournament on Finals Day.  Playing at St George’s Park where England train was a particular honour and added to the occasion’

Over 440 team were in the initial draw, with AITC Blues making it through to the final 6 teams.  AITC Blues came second after the mornings group games and in the afternoon they won their semi-final on penalties after drawing 1-1.

The final was against the holders, a very strong Maidstone United team, who won after a very hard fought game 2-1.

Niamh and Ian enjoyed an exciting day and were thrilled to have their photograph taken with the FA Cup which was on show in the arena during the event.
