Albion Cup - Woodlands Meed go goal crazy in recent Albion Football Tournament!

On the 13th November, 17 students from years 6, 7 and 8 represented Woodlands Meed in the Albion Cup.  There were a total of 15 teams from a variety of schools including St Marys, LVS, Saxon Mount, Cedar Centre, Brantridge and Seadown.

Due to the number of students interested, Woodlands Meed were able to field the maximum two teams afforded in the competition.  It shows how much our students have grown in confidence over recent weeks; that they are far less nervous playing against other schools. Well done!

The students were a real credit to the school with everyone behaving impeccably and displaying great sportsmanship throughout.  Lots of goals were scored during their four group games by both teams.  Although they were unable to qualify for the next round, Woodlands Meed B showed enormous improvement as the competition progressed; getting four points from their final two games.

Woodlands Meed A reached the quarter finals; losing to eventual runners up St Mary’s.
