Woodlands Meed: WM Unite in Dedicated and Determined Displays during Highly Competitive Tournament

On Monday 8th October, two teams from years 8, 9 and 10 attended the annual football tournament hosted by The Triangle in Burgess Hill and organised by Albion in the Community.

Woodlands Meed B, compiled of students from year 9 competed against teams from schools such as St Mary’s, Grove Park, Muntham House, Cedar Centre and Bowden House.

After an extremely tough start and playing against some students who were two years older, they soon settled in to playing some attractive and competitive football; winning three of their last five games, including a 2-0 defeat of Woodlands Meed College, which gave the School bragging rights in probably the most entertaining match of the whole tournament!

Despite, the school site being victorious in the one off match between our two sites, the support for each other and camaraderie was second to none, cheering each other on throughout the entirety of the tournament.

Marlon was awarded the Fair Play Award for Woodlands Meed B after applying himself superbly and demonstrating a fantastic attitude both on and off the pitch.  However, we must praise every single one of our amazing students for their desire, determination, teamwork, effort, conduct and sportsmanship.  They were a real credit to WM and we could not be prouder!  Congratulations on a FIRST CLASS PERFORMANCE!
