Woodlands Meed Catering Manager, Kim Nicholls was shortlisted from a national field to be just one of 3 nominees for the Newcomer Award at the recent Educatering Excellence Awards 2018 held in London at the Royal Garden Hotel on 9th October 2018.

Kim, who is part of the West Sussex Catering Team, based at Woodlands Meed School, was delighted to be acknowledge for her work since starting at Woodlands Meed in 2017.  ‘I am thrilled with this achievement for myself and my team at Woodlands Meed.  Working at a special school is very rewarding and I love having the opportunity to produce fresh homemade delicious food that the children and staff enjoy.’

Adam Rowland, Head teacher at Woodlands Meed added, ‘This is a well deserved recognition of Kim and her teams efforts for the fantastic lunches and catering service they provide for pupils and staff at Woodlands Meed.’

The EDUcatering Excellence Awards are the only awards that recognise catering across the entire school sector, including local authority-run schools, contract caterers and self-managed sites, in state maintained schools, academies and independent schools.

Following a fantastic set of entries and a difficult judging process, Kim was presented with a certificate to mark her achievement of being shortlisted to the final 3 nominees from the entire county.
