Urgent News :

WM students’ step up as they more than hold their own in recent AITC Football Tournament

On Monday 12th November, 18 students from years 6, 7 and 8 participated in the annual football tournament at The Triangle in Burgess Hill.  Woodlands Meed entered two teams and competed against schools such as St Marys, Grove Park, Oak Grove and Muntham House.

Woodslands Meed A had a tough draw in their group and lost their initial three games.  However, they demonstrated great team spirit and togetherness, supporting each other throughout theses challenging matches.  They were easily the most improved team in the entire tournament as they went on to win their next three games without conceding a single goal, which included a 1-0 win against Woodlands Meed B in literally the last 3 seconds!

In the other group, Woodlands Meed B opened their group matches with a tough match against a strong St Mary’s, but losing by a very respectable 3-1 score line.  They went on to win two of their remaining four matches, scoring five and conceding none.

It was fantastic to have a number of family members there to support our amazing young people during this sporting event.  It created a great atmosphere which I know our students benefitted greatly from.  Thank you!
