Get Caught Reading 2013

Woodlands Meed held a wide range of events every day.

We had a Reading Throne in the Courtyard, where a mystery guest sat reading (in disguise) to  greet the pupils every day . Pupils had to guess who it was that was reading a special book in their school. Red Riding Hood, The Worst Witch, Father Christmas and Jacqueline Wilson  were some of the special guests this week.

The Booster Cushion Theatre came to entertain us with a new take on Old MacDonald's Farm with words, song and Makaton signing.

Sally Symes, local author, ran workshop sessions for older pupils and we were pleased to have visitors from Year 5 and year 6 pupils from London Meed School next door visit us for shared reading.

Several hundred pupils from all the schools together read in St John's Park on Thursday.

All in all it was a very successful week celebrating Reading.
