SEND Alliance

The Meeds SEND Alliance is a partnership between schools and other agencies that support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) living and learning in Burgess Hill and the surrounding area. The Alliance aims to improve outcomes for children with SEND and is being developed in collaboration with parents and carers.

The Meeds SEND Alliance is supporting schools in Burgess Hill and Hassocks by: The meeds SEND Alliance logo

  • developing networks and facilitating collaboration between schools and other providers of services
  • pooling and sharing resources, skills and expertise
  • assessing and meeting demand for training
  • Signposting to other providers and organisations
  • Contributing to the 'Local Offer' of provision for children with SEND

The lead school for the Alliance is Woodlands Meed, and this is also where the Alliance is based. To guide the SEND Alliance in itsdevelopment, a Steering Group meets regularly, chaired by Tom Brown (Outreach Co-ordinator at Woodlands Meed), with members of the local community, including SENCOs, governors and parents.
