Jump Ahead

At Woodlands Meed school we offer the students the Jump Ahead programme; this programme has been designed for all pupils that have difficulties with gross and fine motor skills as well as developing and improving pre-handwriting and handwriting skills. The programme has three stages and the students move through the stages when they are ready to do so, the beauty of this programme is that it is totally child centred. We are very lucky at Woodlands Meed to have a vast array of multi-sensory resources and equipment which we are able to utilise throughout the school day whether within the individual Jump Ahead sessions or back in the child’s classroom. Each student follows a programme that is written to suit their particular needs; their progress is closely monitored so we can adapt their provision accordingly taking into account any sensory issues that is impacting on the student’s ability to acquire and develop their motor skills.
