KS4/5 Teachers required for September 2019

We are seeking permanent teachers for our KS4-5 College provision at Woodlands Meed to start September 2019

KS4; We are looking to appoint a class teacher with a specialism in Maths. The successful applicant will plan and deliver engaging lessons to groups of SEND students across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 and would ideally have experience of delivering accredited programmes of learning.

KS4/5; We are looking to appoint an SLD class teacher to plan and deliver core, foundation and Life Skills subjects areas. They need to have experience with a range of SEND and complex needs. Ideally, we are looking to appoint a class teacher with a specialism in Performing Arts and/or Music. The successful applicant will plan and deliver engaging Music and Performing Arts lessons to groups of SEND students across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.

Woodlands Meed is a foundation special school for pupils with a wide range of learning difficulties and complex special needs, including Autistic Spectrum Conditions and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties. We are also a Specialist School for Communication and Interaction.

All teachers at Woodlands Meed need to be flexible and have the knowledge to deliver all curriculum subjects. We are looking for teachers who are looking to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team that provide an individualised approach to learning. The ability to lead a team of support staff and to personalise learning, are key skills.

TMS / UPS plus SEN1 allowance.

Grade 6 Intervention Support Staff

35 hours per week, term time only

NJC Grade 6 (scp 9 – 12)

Woodlands Meed are looking to expand their team of Intervention Teaching Assistants who provide additional and extra support to our young people in order to fulfil their potential.

We have a small number of NJC Grade 6 posts available which can be full or part-time and may include working with children from 2 – 19 on our school or college site or in schools who are members of the Meeds SEND Alliance.

We are looking for candidates with experience in the following areas – or candidates with some experience and enthusiasm who are willing to undertake training:

• Literacy intervention

• Dyslexia


• Speech & Language

• Attention Autism

• Augmented Assistive Technology

• Jump Ahead / fine motor skills

• Physio / OT
