School Meals

Menu:

The current menu is available here.

Catering Services work with the Lead Association for Catering in Education (LACA) to ensure that our menus comply with the Government’s School Food Standards. We have reduced sugar, salt and fat content on our menu and support local suppliers providing fresh meat and vegetables. Our meals are produced in school by our award-winning teams to support your child’s lunchtime experience. We have recently partnered with ProVeg helping to make changes to our menu that can have a big impact on children’s health and the health of the planet.

Cost:

The cost of a school meal is currently £2.75 per day. This will be reviewed in September 2024.

Free School Meals:

School meals are free for all pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.

Some families are entitled to free school meals, based on household income. Please use this link to look at eligibility criteria and apply for Free School Meals. If you have any questions, you can contact the WSCC Free School Meal team directly on 0330 222 5555 or by emailing fsm@westsussex.gov.uk.

Ordering Meals:

We use an online system, Scopay, for parents and carers to order school meals (as well as to give consent for trips, book parents evening spaces, and make payments for meals, trips, breakfast club and other events).

If your son or daughter would like a school meal this must be ordered and paid for in advance using Scopay. We cannot take any lunch orders at school. The ordering facility closes at 9am each day. Please ensure that if you have not ordered a hot meal, your son / daughter brings a packed lunch with them.

If your son / daughter qualifies for free school meals and would like a school dinner you will still need to order their meals using Scopay however you will not be charged.

Your son / daughter will be given a letter to bring home, with a unique access code that you can use to create a Scopay account, when they first join the school.

Scopay is available to families both online and via an app.

Cancelling Meals:

If your son / daughter is ever absent from school you are able to log on to cancel the meal and obtain a refund up until 9am.

What happens if my child has a school trip?

Free School Meals and pupils in Reception, Years 1 & 2 only will be provided with packed meals on trip days, the school will order directly with Catering Services.

Special Diets:

We can work with you and the school to support a medically prescribed special diet.

If your young person has a medical condition that requires a special diet, please complete the special diet request form and return it to reception with all necessary information and supporting medical evidence.

This request will then be passed to and reviewed by the Catering Services team and where possible a special diet meal will be provided.
