Executive Skills

Pupils with poor motor skills can participate in the Executive Skills Programme (formally known as Jump Ahead but rebranded at college for older pupils)

The programme has been specifically designed for children that have difficulties with gross and fine motor skills and can also develop and improve pre-handwriting and handwriting skills. The programme is designed around the individual student and takes into account any sensory issues that may be impacting on the pupil’s ability to acquire motor skills that they need for daily living. Pupils can progress though the three stages at their own pace – the acquisition of skills is closely monitored and shared with class teams so provision can be adapted accordingly. There is a vast array of multi-sensory resources and equipment which can be utilised throughout the college day within the individual sessions or back in the student’s classroom.
