Do you want to gain real work experience that could lead to a paid job and a career?
Woodlands Meed College and Growing West Sussex are teaming up with local employers and expert job coaches to offer a Supported Internship Programme designed to help you take the next step into the world of work.
Start Date: September 2026
Location: Mid-Sussex
This is a fantastic opportunity to build your confidence, learn new skills, and get closer to employment.
What is a Supported Internship?
- Structured, work-based study programme for 16 to 19 year olds who have an education, health and care (EHC) plan.
- The core aim of a supported internship study programme is a substantial work placement, facilitated by the support of an expert job coach.
- Supported interns are in full-time education and their supported internship work placements are part of their course.
- Supported interns spend most of their learning time - typically around 70% - in the workplace.
Who can do a Woodlands Meed Supported Internship?
16 – 19 year olds who
- have an EHCP and
- want to work
There are no qualification requirements.
What does a Supported Internship involve?
Learning
- A chance to study for relevant qualifications (Including Maths and English)
- Continue to improve Maths and English skills
Work
- Most of your time will be spent at work
- You will have a Job Coach to help you learn the job
Woodlands Meed Supported Internship Programme
Work placements in businesses and organisations across Mid Sussex.
