Woodlands Meed & Growing West Sussex Supported Internship Programme

Are you aged 16 to 19 and have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)?
Do you want to gain real work experience that could lead to a paid job and a career?

Woodlands Meed College and Growing West Sussex are teaming up with local employers and expert job coaches to offer a Supported Internship Programme designed to help you take the next step into the world of work.

Start Date: September 2026 

Location: Mid-Sussex

This is a fantastic opportunity to build your confidence, learn new skills, and get closer to employment.

What is a Supported Internship?
  • Structured, work-based study programme for 16 to 19 year olds who have an education, health and care (EHC) plan.
  • The core aim of a supported internship study programme is a substantial work placement, facilitated by the support of an expert job coach.
  • Supported interns are in full-time education and their supported internship work placements are part of their course.
  • Supported interns spend most of their learning time - typically around 70% - in the workplace.
Who can do a Woodlands Meed Supported Internship?

16 – 19 year olds who 

  • have an EHCP and
  • want to work

There are no qualification requirements.

  • A chance to study for relevant qualifications (Including Maths and English)
  • Continue to improve Maths and English skills

Work

  • Most of your time will be spent at work
  • You will have a Job Coach to help you learn the job
