Pupil Support Assistant
20 hrs per week, term time only, 10.00 to 2.00 Monday to Friday.
We would also consider additional hours for the right candidate able to support pupil physical therapy sessions and hydro therapy sessions or with relevant medical experience.
Pupil support assistants are required to work in the dining hall and playground over the lunch period. We also like our PSA staff to work with pupils in the classrooms before and after lunch.
Salary: NJC Grade 3 (actual salary for 20 hours p/w term time only is £8566.36).

Reading Interventions Teaching Assistant
The successful applicant will help improve and transform pupil’s reading ability, confidence and love of reading. They will engage pupils in books preparing them to become committed and enthusiastic readers. The Reading Interventions TA will facilitate daily guided reading groups across both sites, using set reading schemes and will report to the School and College English Leads.
The successful candidate will promote a reading culture to the wider community engaging parents/carers with guidance to support their child’s reading development and involve them in the use of the school library. They will also develop a reading volunteer scheme at the school and college, leading the recruitment and support of a group volunteers who will promote the activity and love of reading.
Experience of supporting reluctant readers and of reading interventions is advantageous. This is an exciting role for a highly motivated individual who has excellent communication skills along with the ability to interact well with children and young people.
Woodlands Meed is a foundation special school for pupils with a wide range of learning difficulties and complex special needs, including Autistic Spectrum Conditions and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties. We are also a Specialist School for Communication and Interaction.
