Woodlands Meed is working towards gaining the above accreditation designed to significantly improve staff knowledge and confidence in working with pupils with SLCN.
There are three separate programmes designed specifically for special schools:

We have three Lead Communication Practitioners qualified at Level 4 and three support staff trained at Level 3 who deliver the following sessions to staff:

Creating a Communication Friendly Setting
The development of symbolic understanding and the link with language and communication
Using objects, pictures, signs and symbols
Means, reasons and opportunities
The Lead Communication Practitioners deliver the Communication Counts course to all the staff in our setting, including any administrative staff or lunchtime supervisors, in fact, anyone who speaks with the pupils!
